For Virginia Tech students 20 tools

Your AI, with VT's catalog in hand.

Ndex connects the AI app you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, or any app that supports MCP connectors) to Virginia Tech's official catalog, Timetable of Classes, Pathways lists, transfer guides, policies and academic calendar. It also gives your AI a degree planner that works from your DARS audit. Your AI answers from what Ndex looks up and cites the page it came from.

Add it to your AI app

Paste the connector URL into your app's settings, then turn Ndex on in a chat.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors in Claude (web or desktop).
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Ndex, and paste the URL above.
  3. In a new chat, turn Ndex on from the tools menu and ask a question.
  1. Turn on Developer mode under Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.
  2. Create an app named Ndex with the URL above and No authentication.
  3. In a new chat, pick Ndex from the tools menu and ask a question.

Ndex is a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP with no authentication. In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http ndex https://getndex.app/mcp

In apps configured with JSON, like Cursor:

{ "mcpServers": { "ndex": { "url": "https://getndex.app/mcp" } } }

Things to ask

Tap one to copy it, then paste it into your AI. The tag shows the tool it should reach for.

Planning from your record

For questions about you (can I take CS 3214, what do I still need, when could I graduate, what if I add a math minor), paste your DARS audit from Hokie SPA into the chat. Your AI reads your courses off it and sends them along with the question. Ndex works the answer out from those courses and keeps nothing once it replies.
